A Legacy Rooted in Excellence

Although Acorn was officially founded in the 1980s, its roots trace back to the 1950s, when the founding family began developing multi-family dwellings and established a reputation for skill and reliability in the trades.

In the early 1960s, the principals behind what would become Acorn partnered with others to form BAIF Developments Limited – a pioneering real estate development company that shaped some of Toronto’s most recognizable landmarks, including the Yonge and Eglinton Centre.

Over three generations, this family-run business expanded into construction, property management (residential, commercial, and industrial), and large-scale community development, helping shape the growing 905 region.

By 1988, Acorn Developments officially joined the group of companies, and since then, the builder has been at the forefront of community growth across York Region, known for being trustworthy, community-minded, and dedicated to exceptional quality.
