In September 2026, Avondale Village by Briarwood Homes held its grand opening at the new sales centre at 195 Avonlough Road in west Belleville. Guests, local business representatives and the builder’s team gathered for a ribbon cutting, congratulations and a first look at the homes coming to the community.

The community is now for sale, with occupancy targeted for 2028 and freehold towns from the $500s. Here is a photo recap of the day, and what it means if you are thinking about buying.

A Celebration in West Belleville

The grand opening brought the Avondale Village brand to life, with the cherry blossom theme that runs through the community’s marketing on display in the sales centre and in the pink shirts worn by team members. The sales centre sits on Avonlough Road, close to Loyalist College and the Bay of Quinte, and it is where buyers can see plans, models and pricing in person. Opening day gave neighbours, local leaders and early buyers a chance to meet the people behind the project.

The Ribbon Cutting

The highlight of the day was the ribbon cutting outside the sales centre. A Briarwood representative wearing a hard hat cut the red ribbon, surrounded by team members and guests. The moment marks the shift from planning to building. For buyers, it is a reminder that Avondale Village is no longer just a drawing. Homes are being sold, the sales centre is open by appointment and construction milestones lie ahead.

Congratulations From the Business Community

A Chamber of Commerce certificate congratulating Briarwood on the occasion of its grand opening was presented during the event, and it was displayed alongside other congratulatory certificates in the sales centre. Recognition from local organizations is a sign that a new community is being welcomed into the city. It also shows that Belleville’s business community sees new housing as part of the area’s growth.

Inside the Sales Centre

Inside, the sales centre is bright and modern, with large windows, a long reception counter, brochures laid out for guests and cherry blossom branches that echo the Avondale Village logo. A display wall explains the builder’s history and a signature chandelier gives the main room a welcoming feel. Visitors can sit down with the team, review the price list and floor plans and ask questions about lots, timing and incentives in a relaxed setting.

The Site Model and Plans

One of the most useful features of the sales centre is the tabletop site model and the maps on the wall. They show how the community is laid out, where the different lot sizes sit and how the neighbourhood connects to the surrounding area. Seeing the layout in three dimensions makes it easier to choose a lot and picture your street. Buyers who visit can walk the model with a team member and ask about the lots that are available.

Building Quality Homes Since 1991

A display board in the sales centre carries the message building quality homes since 1991 and highlights earlier Briarwood communities. Briarwood Development Group is based in Richmond Hill and has built communities across Southern Ontario, including Kingsley Square in Newmarket and Woodland Creeks in Essa. That track record matters when you are committing to a home that will not be finished for a couple of years, so it is worth reading about the builder before you buy.

Meeting the Team

The grand opening was also a chance to meet the people who will guide you through the process, from the builder’s representatives to the Condo Tower team. Buyers often say that knowing who to call makes a long pre-construction timeline feel more manageable. If you could not attend, you can still book a private appointment at the sales centre and meet the team in person.

Why a Grand Opening Matters for Buyers

A grand opening is a milestone, not a guarantee, but it tells you several useful things. The builder has invested in a permanent sales centre, the first phase is being offered to the public and the project is moving from marketing into delivery. It also tends to be when the strongest incentives are offered. Buyers who register early often have the widest choice of lots and models, so a grand opening is a good moment to ask about availability and to compare Phase 1 incentives with what may be offered later.

What to Ask on Your First Visit

On a first visit, ask which lots and models are still available, how pricing differs by lot, what the deposit schedule looks like and when occupancy is expected. Ask which features are included in every base home, how design selections work and how the builder communicates updates during construction. Request the price list, the floor plans and the incentive sheet in writing, and ask how educator pricing or other programs might apply. A short list of prepared questions makes the visit more productive for you and for the team.
