Northwoods by Mattamy Homes is a master-planned community on March Road in Kanata North, Ottawa, between Maxwell Bridge Road and Dunrobin Road. The community includes detached homes, townhomes, stacked townhomes and low-rise condominiums, with the low-rise condos listed by the builder as coming soon. It is aimed at first-time buyers and downsizers looking for low-maintenance living close to Kanata’s business park, shopping and trails.
Mattamy describes its low-rise condos at Northwoods as designed for easy everyday living, and homes in the community are ENERGY STAR certified. The builder lists stacked townhomes at roughly 1,000 to 1,200 square feet with optional finished basements. Unit sizes, floor plans and finishes for the low-rise condominium release have not been published yet, and details will be shared with registrants ahead of the public launch.
Northwoods is close to the South March Highlands Conservation Forest, local parks and trails, and shopping at RioCentre Kanata and Tanger Outlets Ottawa. Mattamy lists retail planned within the community, while Canadian Tire Centre, Landmark Cinemas Kanata and Bell Sensplex are all nearby. Schools in Kanata are served by the public and Catholic boards, and a Catholic elementary school sits across March Road from the community. Northwoods is on March Road in Kanata North, between Maxwell Bridge Road and Dunrobin Road, as part of the Kanata North Urban Expansion Area. March Road runs south to Highway 417, where it meets Eagleson Road at exit 138. The City of Ottawa has also planned a 1.4 kilometre Transitway extension with a park and ride north of Maxwell Bridge Road, which would improve rapid transit access over time.
Northwoods is a Mattamy master-planned community of more than 1,000 homes, with detached homes, townhomes, stacked townhomes and low-rise condos. It sits close to the Kanata North Business Park, a major technology employment centre with more than 540 companies. The builder describes walkable access to retail, with shops planned within the community, which suits first-time buyers, downsizers and workers who want a short trip to the office.
The South March Highlands Conservation Forest is close to Northwoods and offers forest trails for hiking and walking. Elsewhere in Kanata, Shirley’s Brook Park and Morgan’s Grant Woods provide green space, and Kanata Lakes offers a golf community setting. A Catholic elementary school sits across March Road from the community, and St. Isidore Catholic Elementary School is listed for the nearby Morgan’s Grant area. Earl of March Secondary School (OCDSB) and Holy Trinity Catholic High School (OCSB) are Kanata high schools. Confirm catchments with each board.

Kanata Centrum, beside Terry Fox station, adds a large shopping complex, and Landmark Cinemas Kanata is part of the wider entertainment area around the Canadian Tire Centre. Retail space is also planned inside the Northwoods community, according to Mattamy.
Kanata has a wide choice of family facilities, including the Kanata Leisure Centre and Wave Pool and the John G. Mlacak Centre, as well as neighbourhood parks such as W.C. Bowes Park, Logan Lea Park and Lawner Harris Park, according to local listings. Bell Sensplex offers ice sports, and the Canadian Tire Centre, home of the Ottawa Senators, hosts hockey games and concerts for family outings.
